Knott's Berry Farm History
Knott's Berry Farm sits on what was once a berry farm established by the Knott family. The Knotts sold berries and other goodies to locals and eventually opened "Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant". Fried chicken dinners developed into a major tourist attraction and to entertain guests while they waited to be seated, the a variety of attractions and shops were developed, leading to the inception of today's theme park. Mr. Knott constructed a replica Ghost Town and continually added additional attractions as the years passed on. Today, Knott's Berry Farm boasts over forty rides and year-round fun for visitors of all ages.
